Position Overview

An SEO Global Social Media Manager is a specialized role that focuses on integrating search engine optimization (SEO) principles with social media marketing strategies. This position combines the skills and responsibilities of an SEO Manager with those of a Social Media Manager to maximize a brand’s online presence and visibility across both search engines and social media platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Keyword Integration: Research and integrate relevant keywords into social media content, captions, and profiles to improve search engine visibility.
  • On-Page Optimization: Optimize social media profiles (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram) for SEO, including using relevant keywords and providing complete information.
  • Content Strategy: Develop a content strategy that aligns with SEO goals and social media objectives. Create and curate engaging, shareable content that appeals to the target audience.
  • Link Building: Build links to social media profiles from authoritative websites and encourage sharing of social media content to increase visibility.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Use SEO and social media analytics tools to track performance, monitor keyword rankings, and provide regular reports on progress and areas for improvement.
  • Competitor Analysis: Research and analyze competitors’ social media and SEO strategies to identify opportunities and trends.
  • Social Media Advertising: Create and manage paid social media advertising campaigns, ensuring they align with SEO and broader marketing objectives.
  • Engagement and Interaction: Foster engagement with the audience through responding to comments, messages, and mentions, and encouraging user-generated content.
  • Stay Current: Keep up-to-date with SEO and social media trends, algorithm changes, and best practices to adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with SEO specialists, content creators, designers, and other team members to ensure a cohesive approach to online marketing.
  • Conversion Optimization: Work on strategies to turn social media followers and website visitors into leads or customers.
  • Social Media Calendar: Create and maintain a social media content calendar that aligns with SEO and marketing objectives.

Typical requirements for this role

  • Education:  Bachelor’s Degree: A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as marketing, digital marketing, communications, or a related discipline is often preferred.
  • Skills:
    • SEO Expertise: Proficiency in SEO principles is crucial. This includes knowledge of keyword research, on-page optimization, technical SEO, and familiarity with SEO tools and analytics platforms.
    • Social Media Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram), their algorithms, and advertising tools is essential.
    • Content Creation: Strong writing and content creation skills are important for creating SEO-friendly content for websites and social media platforms.
    • Analytics: Ability to use SEO and social media analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console, social media analytics tools) to monitor and assess the performance of campaigns.
